I ended up paying $150 for software that didn't work. That's all according to their plan, I'm sure. I canceled the subscription and requested a refund of course, but the refund request was rejected. So imagine my surprise when I get another $76 bill a month later. In the fine print (who reads it?) it is stated that not only was I buying a one month subscription, but that I was also entering into a monthly subscription for it. Remember that one month subscription I mentioned earlier? I took that to mean that I could only use the software for one month. Recovering data from dead drives is a tricky business, and I knew there were no guarantees going into it. Obviously I was disappointed, but I did not request a refund. So I shelled out the $76 to buy a 1 month subscription to use the product, which was the only way you can buy it.Īfter running for many hours, the software failed to recover a single file, despite having identified many file names it claimed it could recover during the free scan.
